There's still time for a fabulous Anyfish fishing trip...

Our Tiny Marketing Co

The Anyfish charter boat, Dotty, is ready, prepped and waiting to take family groups, friends or corporate gatherings out onto the Solent Seas. Opt for a spot of fishing or a pootle over to the Isle of Wight - there's still plenty of time to book up before winter.

Early autumn is a lovely time to head out onto the water - as proved by Dotty's most recent fishing trip (featured in these fabulous photos and the following film clip).

This was a flyfishing expedition, we were aiming to catch Sea Bass - and that's just what we did. We headed out in the afternoon, leaving Hamble Marina at teatime - fully equipped with light tackle and some chilled bottles of beer. We coasted along the Bramble Bank, keeping an eye out for activity from the local waterbirds that would signify the presence of a shoal of fish.

Lo and behold we were soon in luck and we managed to catch a total of ten big sea bass, one after the other (which we popped safely back into the water). With the backdrop of a beautiful sunset and water that was as flat as a millpond, we cruised slowly back to the Marina, sipping our beers and boatspotting. Bliss.

There's still plenty of the Bass fishing season to make the most of and there are bream, smoothounds and rays to be had too. Also lots of potential for catching ray, sole and cod - our wonderful summer means the waters are still warm and full of fabulous fish.

The kind of trip described here would suit a group of friends or family, or a business group of up to four people. It doesn't matter if you're beginners or old hands. We'll talk you through the basics, give you a few advanced tips or just leave you to your own devices - it's up to you. We'll bring the fishing tackle too (unless you want to bring your own).

You can pack up a picnic hamper or we can prep a suitable fish supper for you. Then it just remains for you to have a few chilled drinks, enjoy the Solent scenery and relax.

A 4-hour trip for four people from Hamble Wharf, including the required fishing tackle (and instruction if needed!) would cost £200. For your reassurance we're fully safety certified and Dotty is always kept ship-shape and spotless. To find out more about our charter boat trips take a look here and here.
